We've been listening hard to you during past few months. We've spent countless hours speaking to our customers and learning about how you work, and we've used that research to create a new and improved version of JoomBlog. It's more efficient, more flexible, and makes for a more collaborative experience. We'll begin rolling it out on Monday, June 24, and we think you're going to love it.
We're excited to share it with you, but we know that change can be hard. Here's what to expect from New JoomBlog...
We're introducing a responsive design that's been optimized for usage on new Joomla 3.x and any responsive template on Joomla 2.5.x.
Simplified dashboard and blogger profiles
We talked to a lot of our customers and learned that for most of you, blogging is a group effort. We've improved blogger dashboard to make it easier to produce and collaborate on creating posts. Now several bloggers can post to the same blog and work on same post. You can grant every user of your website permissions to create own blogs.
Personalized Reading Lists
Now there's an option for every on dashboard. Even if your users do not allowed to post, they can follow selected blogs and get explicit content right on their dashboards.
New social and share options
Now it is even more easier for users to share content with their friends. JoomBlog now provides embed and social buttons for images and videos in your posts. You can manually set Open Graph tags in your post to make sure that it is displayed correctly in Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and other when sharing.
More functionality for integrated comments
In our research we've noticed that most of our users turn off integrated comments, so we were curious why. We've gathered feedback and implemented several improvement that we hope make integrated comments more useful: in new JoomBlog version users will be able to hide not valuable comments by voting for them, new WYSIWYG editor implemented in comments, we've also made comments form more clean for comfortable reading.
New WYSIWYG editor
Many of you complain on default Joomla editor and integration issues with 3rd party editor extensions. Starting from this new version we're adding new WYSIWYG editor that we'll continue to improve in next version.
Starting next week, you'll be able to download New JoomBlog when you log in to your Members Area.
We hope you like what you see. And thanks for using JoomBlog.
