Please take a minute to look at new features we’ve implemented in our Joomla! components and are planning to do in the next couple of months:

  • since version 2.2.1 the component supports content plugins which means that now content which is shown with our survey is handled by all content plugins (and this allows to use all built-in Joomla features)
  • version 2.2.1 also contains a content plugin for the survey component which means that now you can insert surveys right into your content articles (to do that you’ll need to install the plugin and publish it, next go to the article and insert a tag {surveyforce id=1} where 1 is the id of the survey which can be looked up in the survey management section)

For the next release we plan to add ‘assessments’ for surveys which represent the extended rules feature, i.e. these rules will allow to evaluate the answers to a survey right after it’s submitted and display the feedback to respondent based on this evaluation.

Imagine like you ask a set of questions about a user’s skills and interests, and depending on the answers there are 3 variants of the job you’d suggest he’ll be best at, so a survey will show one of 3 variants that suits the user based on what he answered.

We’re currently working on the release which will include implementing the built-in payment system for the component and the feature that will allow you to use VirtueMart to charge people for taking quizzes. We’ve received quite a lot of requests on that so we believe it will be a very useful and essential part of the component.

  • option to copy (clone) chart – it’s now very easy to create another chart by just copying the previously created
  • option to set the column width – now you don’t have to dig into the code to set custom width for your chart and can do that right from the back-end
  • description for rows (properties) – an option which allows you to set description for each row; it will be hidden by default and users can click the row’s name to show the description info – a handy way to explain stuff for visitors
  • new type of row (property) called Delimiter – a feature which allows you to group several options that are compared
  • bug fixing for chart management

In the next release we plan to include CSV import/export (feature will allow you to edit and create charts in a quicker way), usability improvements (completely new BE interface), template manager (which will include 2 default styles and 1 custom with the help of which you’ll define how your chart will look like e.g. colors, etc.)

  • we’ve implemented overall interface improvements and fixed reported bugs
  • and done some SEO improvements (Titles for the internal pages with the possibility to enter SEO data for the Item pages like metakeys, metadescription, author)

  • ability to manage testimonials from the front-end (edit, publish, add) – edit and approve testimonials from the front-end UI
  • ability to show testimonials just for specific menus or content – a nice feature that allows you to define what testimonials should be shown in module relative to any menu (using tags)
  • and we’ve changed the content plugin to support the templates (templates were implemented in the previous version - ability to select a template for the front-end layout of the testimonials) – so if you insert testimonials using the plugin they’ll be displayed with the chosen template as well

  • vBulletin 4.0 compatibility
  • added wrapping forum on the front-end with the JVB Bridge component (optional feature)
  • recently there was reported a bug when the forum never loads when you search it (with the bridge installed). The problem only persists for subscribers using VB4.

NOTE:to fix this bug all existing customers should redownload the modified archive from the Members Area, and perform the following steps:

  1. unpatch vBulletin templates in the bridge's configuration
  2. uninstall the old component
  3. reinstall the new archive
  4. then patch forum templates.

We partially fixed the prev-next issue.

We’re continuously working on the components hoping they’re extending your Joomla! just the way you need it. The wishlist for the features is always renewed. The ongoing subscribers can download the latest versions in teh Members Area, and other customers can prolong the subscription there.
