TOPIC: js conflicts

js conflicts 4 years, 5 months ago #4358

Hello,

This component seems really excellent in the demo site. Nice work!

I have some problems though.... the advertisement for the drag and drop component says that it will work with ANY template. I am using a RocketTheme template (rt_replicant) which requires mootools 1.11(or 1.12dev). After I publish DD elements to a menu item page, I get several prototype.js and mootools conflict error messages... such as:

expression.match is not a function /com_joomdragdrop/js/lib/prototype.js
Line 1860

this.removeEvent is not a function
/mootools.js
Line 3

etc..

any thoughts? We' already made large investment into purchasing and customizing this particular template. Is it possible to compartmentalize the use of the scriptalicious and prototype libraries so they don't conflict?

thank you.<br /><br />Post edited by: shinkendo, at: 2007/08/24 00:41

Thanks for your rapid reply. Unfortunately the site is still only being developed locally until it's fit to publish. I sent you a \&quot;contact Us\&quot; form with additional details of my issues. After a little testing I noticed that even though the errors were present, they didn't seem to affect the function of the other js effects too badly. The mootools fx.slide elements don't slide as smoothly, etc. I think I could have it working if I only had better template customization skills.

Thanks again. Truly wonderful module.
