Hi,

got the phpbb bridge today after fiddling around with some other extensions.
Installation was quite easy - although I had some problems when joomla admin and phpbb admin had the same username at installation.

Website is on localhost so I cannot send ftp/backend access.

Some issues still tpo solve:

- when using the menu button to go to the forum, and accessing the admin panel, the automatic height resizing of the admin panel does not work. When I go to the url of the phpbb installation directly, the forum is shown wrapped into the joomla site and the admin panel shows resized as it shoud be. Any suggestions?
Joomla template is JA_Purity and phpbb template is patched successfully.

- login through joomla ~> phpbb ~> admin panel, no problems.
but login on the phpbb page, login successfull, then to the admin page, password is not valid... in both cases, I use the same password...
any suggestions?

thank you for your support

Hi,

The bridge shouldn't be used for forum admin panel, as other template is used there. Moreover, it shouldn't be patched, so there wasn't "automatic height resizing".

What regards to 2nd issue only the temporary admin access could help to investigate the issue. If it's possible, send it to www.joomplace.com/helpdesk/index.php together with this thread's link.

Regards

Thank you Nana for your response.

I still find it a little strange that the bridge does not allow to view the original phpbb aadministration panel in a normal way.Not every setting can be set on the joomla backend site so for real admin tasks, ACP login is still vital in my opinion.

Having changed the url target of the acp in the overall footer to a new page, solves the view problem but sometimes creates session conflicts.
Anyway, I'll survive

The second problem seems to have disappeared - it was probably due to a double entry in my firefox saved password list. Clearing cache folders and emptying the autocomplete form information have solved it for now.

thank you for creating and supporting a fine component.

You can try to patch the template of forum admin manually. The instructions are in "Help" (the same as for standard template).
