TOPIC: Bridge - phpBB2 to Agora

Bridge - phpBB2 to Agora 2 years, 12 months ago #10601

Hello,

I have in mind migrating the actual phpBB2 board with above 2100 membres to Agora, which is to 100% integrated into Joomla.

In order to avoid ID et and passwort mismatches, membres of the Agora support forum suggested to bridge, which would then allow to get them into Joomla. This makes sens and would avoid large future problems.

I am willing to buy for this purpose your bridge. Could you however please let me know that this will work ie. that it will become possible to integrate the actual on the phpBB2 registred ID's et corresponding passwords.

It will not be necessary to pridge the phpBB2 forum, since Agora ist integrated into Joomla.

Many thanks for your explanations.

Regards
Viggo + Pieter

Hi Pieter!
Apologies for this delay,
Joomla 1.5 and phpBB use different storage methods for passwords, our bridge doesn't allow bulk importing users from phpBB to Joomla. Only if the user logs in Joomla with his phpBB credentials and he is absent in Joomla - he will be inserted in Joomla.

Thus the bridge will suit you but you'll need to wait a bit until all users login; only then all your phpbb users will be in joomla.

Kindest regards!

What's the forum path I have to insert ?

The forum is on:
www.b-a-r-f.com/Forum/phpBB2/index.php

It's asking for the absolute path on the server.
it's located at:
/public_html/Forum/phpBB2/

but how have I to write this path into the configuration ?

Thanks for your help.

You need to enter the absolute path to your forum like /home/site/public_html/phpbb

You have the Joomla path written, you just need to add the forum folder.

Some in phpBB2 cottectly registred membres are complaining to be unable to connect into Joomla.

I made myself some tests and regretfully they are right.

Please hit:

www.b-a-r-f.com/nousite

then just go to:

Yoologin

and try with:

ID: marilyne
Password: champion

I have a nice list of other users which are unable connecting.

Yesterday I had not these problems. What happened ?

I have planned going online by wendsday...but if the bridge does'nt work it would be impossible.

Many thanks four your assistance.
