I am using joomla 1.58 and want to run a subsite also in 1.58 I want the user to be able to reg on either site but automaticlly be a member on both sites. I am not using Community Builder but want to know the best sync product to use ?

Hi Ashley!
If you don't use CB, you won't be able to use our Sync Users CB component that leaves you just the choice of single sign-on, but in single sign-on unlike in sync users cb, only managed users can autologin and will be synched to the subsite (so you'll have to manage them manually through the admin back-end).

And to have a both-ways synchronization the component needs to be licensed on both sites, that means you'll need to purchase 2 copis of the component.
