TOPIC: A Few Questions

A Few Questions 1 year, 11 months ago #12207

I have a few questions about the component. Mostly usability questions.

  1. Where are the email settings coming from? All of the emails are coming from Apache. Where do I change them to reflect our site?
  2. As Super Administrator, I am able to view everyone's survey results. However, when I create one, no one else can see them listed in the survey list. How do I set it so that certain people can view the results?
  3. How do I edit the subject of emails to be specific to the survey? Right now, they all say [Survey]
  4. Where are the instructions for using the plugin?
  5. I noticed on the forums that others wanted the ability to email the people who took the surveys. Have you made any strides in that? I'm afraid that I didn't test that ability before buying, and was quite disappointed that it wasn't a feature. We were planning on using this for registrations of events as well as simple surveys.

I think that those are my questions so far. Looking forward to hearing back soon.

Hi,
1. They are taken from the global settings: mailfrom and sitename

2. Not sure what this is about, are you talking about authors? The authors see only their own surveys on the front-end, they won't see other surveys and their results.

3. If you search the survey.php file and seach for [Survey] there, you can chance it there.

4. The survey is inserted into the article with the tag {surveyforce id=6} where id is the id of the survey (the id is listed on the survey list page).

5. no this wasn't implemented, we can quote you on this feature if you want, or you can modify the code yourself providing you have the coding skills..

I enabled the plugin and it doesn't embed the survey I indicated in the content article. How come?

Perhaps, the tag was inserted incorrectly in the article. The tag should be the following {surveyforce id=1}.
Please check:
- the id of the survey (have you inserted the right survey number?)
- if the plugin is published or not
If you still have difficulties, please contact us.

Is it possible to use the plugin for invited guests to the survey? Right now it seems the plugin only works for public. The reason I want it to be in an article is because the link is simpler.

The link to invited users is like this:
www.site.com/index.php?option=com_survey...cd5bf313a226130f6c12

I want to simplify it to be something like:
www.site.com/feedback

Is this possible or is it only available for public users?

You see the plugin works with all types of the users. A user should go on the link, which has the "invitation" code, in order a survey starts for the invited user. There's no capability to identify the user without this code.

You cannot simplify the link on the same cause. Then there won't be the "invitation" code and the component cannot identify the user.

If you have more questions, you're welcome to ask.
