When I click on the patch button (configuration, patch tab), my vbulletin shows as patched fine. When I go to the URL that vbulletin is installed in (vbulletin 4.0.1 publishing suite), I get the following error message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/pseserv1/public_html/vb4/includes/class_core.php(4029) : eval()'d code on line 68

When I unpatch it, the page comes up correctly, but won't be synced with joomla. Any thoughts or ideas as to what the issue is and how it can be addressed?

Hi,
our bridge doesn't modify any php files of the forum, so this issue should be addressed to VB support team, as we don't handle such requests.

Then what does the patch button do? I suspect it modifies the vbulletin template code. when I unpatch the problem goes away. It's like all the formatting goes away under this error message.

I don't see this issue when I installed vbulletin 3xx, just 4.0.1 publishing suite front end.

If you could tell me what the patch does I can look at the code (template I assume) which may be causing what I'm seeing.

Thanks.....

I just tested my first answer - the patch seems to allow for a wrapped access to the forum. I'd still like to know where and/or what is changed in Vbulletin so I can play around with why this isn't working right with 4.0.1

Hi,
indeed there was a bug with the 4.0.1 version (as the templates were changed in this version),
we fixed the bridge and uploaded the modified archives to the member's area, so if you download them and reinstall the problem should be gone.
