I have been looking into many survey modules for my current project. We are using this module not just for surveys but interaction between domain expert and the common User.

I found SurveyForce most near for our requirements, although its not rated at Joomla Extension yet, but I selected it for its features.

In-spite of our customized development, I would love to have these features in the component.


Features:
1. Help for the question should be provided as hover or even tooltip would be great. Options as combined (like radiobuttons or checkboxes) should also have additional field of Help.

2. Admin user should be able to view user wise responses. Currently email is sent to the admin user... UI should be provided.

3. After sometime (may be closure of survey) survey results can be sent to the User.

4. Question type should be editable or at least be selected from inside the Survey question (I don't mind a page refresh for this feature). It is very confusing to first select question type and then click New button.

5. Options should be editable. We have to delete and then add new option for any minor typing mistake.


Programming:
1. UI Design should be tableless.

2. Some developer help should be provided like ERD with data dictionary, Class names and what these are meant for etc.

3. Lots of java scripting is produced at client side, this must be avoided and use some simple approach. Like loading one form at a time instead of creating Javascripts that are handling all UI flow. Its almost a nightmare to make modifications to over 7200 lines of single file edit.surveyforce.html.php.

thank you for such a detailed review on the component: we will be implemeting the improvements you listed, although it will take at least several months for all of them to be done I believe. If someone wishes to order the custom development modifications, we will prioritize the features then.

Also, the 5th item on the list is already editable, if you click on the answer option twice you'll see it's editable.

Previously the extension was rated at JED, but we've gone a long way to GPL compliance and components' resubmission, that's why the rating was cleared..

the new version is btw almost ready so should become available within a couple of weeks, it will cover:

3. This will be available together with JomSocial - if using it all registered users will be able to create surveys.

4. And what do you mean by user wise responses please?
