JoomBlog
JoomBlog component is not just a blog extension. It's a powerful blog engine that combines several blog models. Configure your JoomBlog to get something like BlogSpot or LiveJournal. Turn your Joomla! website into a blog as easy and flexible as Wordpress does. Experiment to find your unique look & feel.

Toolbar

Menu items selected in JoomBlog Settings will be displayed on Toolbar. To access hidden items that not fit in a line, use drop down button.

Posts

The title of the post consist of blog name (1) and post name (2). Click on a blog name will open a page with posts that belong to the blog. Click on a post name will open a full article of a post (the same could be done by clicking Read more button).

The other quick links are: category (3), tags (4) and author (5). They will display category posts, posts containing a tag and author profile page respectively.

Clicking on comments link will open full article and scroll down to a comment form.

Click on a top ↑ link will scroll current page up to the very begging.

Full article

At the end of article you will see links to the previous (6) and the next (7) posts.

A link to a print-friendly version could be found on bottom panel above the comment form.

Voting

Voting rank is used to prioritize post by popularity. Each user could vote for a post only once.

Content Creation

To be able to add blogs or posts, permissions should be granted to a user. After it is done, user will see content creation buttons (add post (1), add blog (2)) on a toolbar. Please check menu settings if the buttons are not visible.

Click on Add blog or Add post link will open a page with almost the same interface as administrator panel.

Profile

Blogger profile page let user control author's blog right from a front end. User will find there following sections:

  • My Entries is a list of posts with edit/delete options.
  • Profile details is a user details page. Personal user information could be added here.
  • Statistics shows blog stats for Total entries, Total hits and Tags used.
  • Comments page gives blogger control over his blog's comments.
