The features and usability improvements which have been tested in beta at JoomPlace Blog for some time are available for JoomBlog users now!
Today we announce the release of JoomBlog 1.0.7.
The release includes a number of improvements making blog posts creation and management process much easier. Besides we added additional social sharing option (Pinterest), Google FeedBurner integration and engaging navigation option designed to access random blog post.
See the details below. Here we go :)
“Read more” feature layout was improved and blog post creation and management went quite similar to a habitual Joomla articles management style:
- Now blog posts are categorized upon their status to: Unpublished (draft), Published, Achieved (publication date expired or achieved manually), Trashed;
- You can save your blog post as unpublished draft when it is still not ready for publishing and choose a date and time on a calendar for your post to be published automatically
Usability Improvements for Administrators
Now the posts are ordered by the date of creation, and the latest ones are displayed at the top of the list by default.
You are free to change the order by any column of the posts list: Title, Category, Author, Creation date, Publishing date, Expiration date, Hits, Status or ID.
We are sure you will enjoy the new option allowing filtering your posts by tags easily using the pop-up menu.
Thanks to usability improvements now it is easy to set all blog post details including author, tags and language right from one page.
New Social Sharing Options
Open Graph support is added. This lets you turn blog post into object in a social graph providing your readers with a rich preview of the post before publishing it at Facebook.
Pinterest virtual pin-board is supported by the Joomla blogging component now! We added the new follow button which is quite similar to the Facebook and Twitter buttons your readers are surely familiar with. When your blog reader clicks the button, a linked image and the source link are grabbed from your blog and then the reader can find it added to his/ her pin-boards.
JoomBlog was integrated with Google FeedBurner giving you advanced RSS feed management and performance analytics possibilities.
We added a cool “Random post” option giving your readers possibility to try their luck moving to a random blog post
Improved JoomBlog got attention even before it released!

It is a superb all-inclusive solution for creating a full-featured Joomla blog site!
