is this possible?

sharing specific database tables from a master site to slave site/s....

i am designing a football league site and have installed the gridiron football component... right now i have loaded all the teams and their info in the backend of the site... i am also going to be designing the teams sites -- on separate domains...--- i will install gridiron on each site as well...

can i link up the gridiron tables from the league site to the gridiron tables in the teams site's so:
1. all the info entered in the league site populates the team site's...
2. everytime i update the league website it will then update the team site's...

thanks

Dear Trey,

If «sharing specific database tables btwn sites» means your gridiron football component will use tables from other databases, this sharing is possible to implement. However this does not make any sense as, for example, users IDs will differ in either of database, i.e. importing data to the tables of the other site directly will result in incorrect data.

In this case, data synchronization might fit, i.e. copying data to the other site using a special algorithm. Multisites Site Manager component doesn't allow doing this.

The solution may be provided by developing a custom component allowing you to synchronize data of your gridiron football component.

If our custom development services are of any interest to you, feel free to write to our helpdesk to discuss the details.

maybe i didnt explain it clearly.... the main site will house all the players - they will all be updated there... each team will update their roster on the main site...

i just want the database tables to be copied-linked to the team sites gridiron db tables... like i said gridiron will be installed on every site... right now i am going into php-myadmin and copying the query dump and dropping it in the db of each team.. thankfully just 2 sites for now...

does that explain it better? i dont see where the ids would be an issue since no editing will be done on the team site's... right? is this possible...

thanks

here is the league website: www.thewifa.com
www.thewifa.com

and here are the 2 team sites for now:
www.renobarons.com
www.lvcobras.com

each team would make updates on the wifa site and the resulting db tables on the team sites would update...

Multisites Site Manager allows copying only some tables from one site to another. However this has to be done manually.
To make it automatic, a custom cron script has to be developed.

Both alternatives are possible.
However in your case it's better to have it work without the component.
