I would like to put a button image in each of three detail rows (one per each of three items), with a link to another page. This would be like the "Management Excellence" site you feature as a use of Comparison Chart.
In their chart, towards the bottom, they have "More Info" and "Register" buttons. This is what I would like to accomplish.

If I'm not mistaken, you utilize Joomla! 2.5, right?

In this case, please go to Components - Comparison Chart - Management - Items - click the name of any item and open the properties tab. Go down to the Comment field of the necessary property and insert the HTML code into it.

On the Management Excellcence website it looks as follows:
Remember to specify the correct link and image path.

Saw this thread and hoped it would solve my issue. However, following your advise and adding the following string:

<a href="/bestall"><img style="border:none;" alt="comparison order" src="images/comparison_order.png">

gave the result as shown in the attached screenshot (button displayed twice and code visual code snippets). I have tried ending with /a as well, but same result.

What am I doing wrong? Your advise is much appreciated.

Thank you. I put in the link, but the images do not display (there is a "placeholder" broken image displayed). The link does work however. I even tried moving the png files to the comparison chart image directory, but they will not show. I tried jpg also.

The first link to the image is invalid, see below:

<img style="border:none;" alt="Learn More..." src="whitakerweb.net/hen2/images/comparisonchart/test.jpg"> - the correct link, i.e. "hen2" is missing in the current link.

However the image doesn't open in any case, which means that either there is no image with this name or format or current permissions don't allow reading the image.

I have tried several pathing statements in the src= parameter. My base is whitakerweb.net/hen2 , so that should not be needed. However, I even tried whitakerweb.net/hen2/images/... to no avail.

I am able to insert images in other areas from the /images directory, and I also tried testing from the /images/comparisonchart/ directory, where the checkmarks and "X" marks initiate from, but that did not work either.

I have updated my helpdesk ticket with login credentials.

I replied in your ticket, but I'll copy my message in case it would be helpful for other users.

You need to check whether the path to the images is correct.
For example you have: whitakerweb.net/hen2/images/comparisonchart/test.png
But it should look like:http://whitakerweb.net/hen2/images/comparisonchart/test.png

Also make sure that all the images are placed to the folder specified in the path.

I have to ask again:

This is the string I get when I add the image and link to a normal article in Joomla:

When adding it to an item in ComarisonChart, the link works fine, but the image is displayed "double" as in the attached screenshot in my previous post.

What do I have to change to get it sorted? Your advise is much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. Looks like I needed to addbefore the link to make it fully qualified. Plus I jinxed myself trying to test too many ways and inadvertently had images in wrong places at times.

So, in summary, the only way I cold get it to work (and works beautifully!) is to have the fully qualified URL in the "src=" parameter.

I've reviewed the previous correspondence in forum and tickets and would like first of all ask you to make sure that you insert the link into the Comment field, not the Value one.

Should this not help, please re-enable the access which you provided earlier.
